THE national judo squad are well prepared for the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games having spent two months training with Mongolian Olympic coach Baltulga Dashgobol in Mongolia recently.

And national coach Marjan Abdullah is pleased with the improvements of his charges under his former coach. Marjan had spent his early years in the sport training in Mongolia.

"One of the reasons that I wanted the team to go to Mongolia was that I had also trained there when I was still competing, under Baltulga as well," said Marjan.

"And I am happy with what I have seen. After two months they are more aggressive, their technique has improved. This will help them in their preparation for the games."

Marjan, who won silver at the 2009 Laos Sea Games, listed Mohd Farhan Uzair and Nor Izzatul Fazlia as the nation's best bet for gold at KL2017. Malaysia won five bronze at the Singapore Games two years ago.
